The Central Library of Koklabari Chapaguri College organised a Library Pre-Orientation Programme on 21st August, 2026, on the theme “Welcome to Library.” The programme was organised with the objective of introducing students to the college library, its facilities, resources, services and the importance of developing regular reading and library-use habits.
The programme was led by Mr Tularam Brahma, Librarian, Koklabari Chapaguri College, in the presence of Mr Bharat Baro, Assistant Librarian, KC College. The orientation focused on familiarising students with the functioning of the Central Library and encouraging them to make effective use of the library for their academic and intellectual development.
During the programme, students were introduced to the basic rules and procedures of the library, including the process of issuing and returning books, maintaining discipline inside the library, proper handling of library resources and effective utilisation of available reading materials. The students were also encouraged to develop the habit of reading beyond their prescribed textbooks and to use the library as an important centre for knowledge, learning and self-development.
Mr Tularam Brahma explained the role of the library in supporting classroom learning and academic activities. He emphasised that a well-utilised library can help students enhance their knowledge, improve their academic performance and develop critical thinking and independent learning skills.
The presence of Assistant Librarian Mr Bharat Baro further strengthened the orientation programme and provided students with an opportunity to understand the practical aspects of accessing library services.
The “Welcome to Library” programme was therefore a meaningful initiative of the Central Library, Koklabari Chapaguri College, aimed at creating awareness among students about the importance and effective utilisation of library resources. The programme concluded with an appeal to all students to regularly visit the library and make it an integral part of their academic journey.
